ZBC TV has been historically manipulated by the elite to further their interests while pushing the views of the ordinary people to obscurity.
Women have been grossly marginalized in organs of decision-making and governance structures in Zimbabwe despite the Constitution’s attempt to bridge this gap by providing both women and men with the right to equal treatment, including the right to equal opportunities in political, economic, cultural and social spheres. Gender equality is yet to be achieved and women are still lagging in terms of decision-making processes. A considerable number of young women participated in the 2018 harmonised elections. However, their participation in governance issues, particularly how to take advantage of devolution mechanisms to articulate their concerns, remains an issue, which they should explore if they are to receive the benefits of such a process.
